In the Spirit of making a list of goals for 2009 to improve or focus on, I have decided to list a few. I have been inspired to do so as I looked at a few other blogs. It just makes since to write them and post them to keep me in check.
1. Be consistent with beginning and ending my day with reading daily devotions or my bible, no matter how busy the day gets.
2. Try to make it to a week night service when I find myself having to work PRN on a Sunday and can not attend church. (This is a challenge because my salon appointments are usually on this day and I am subject to get out late at times and not make the weeknight service). However, I do listen to the CD from the service when I can not make it on Sundays due to work. My hubby brings me the CD and I listen to the sermon all week long.
3. Learn how to say No and not over extend myself with overcommitting to helping with things
4. Go to bed on time to get adequate rest.
5. Drink plenty of water during the day, despite a busy schedule.
6. Eat my scheduled meals and not skip meals due to work schedule.
7. Stay committed to my work out schedule even if days have to be adjusted.
8. Learn how to use the new camera purchased back in the summer ( I have been pointing and shooting and not taking advantage of all of the different settings, lighting/flash settings etc)-Read the manual.
9. Finish the nursery
10. Schedule to visit some of hubby's family members out of country this year. One trip later this year or first of next year.
11. Have couples night every other month, no matter how busy our lives get.
12. Commit to planning and organizing large family vacation trip for extended family for later this year to have everyone on a schedule and finalize payments.
13. Complete unfinished decorating projects in the house.
14. Finish the basement.
15. Take Guitar lessons
16. Take time out for myself to work on crafts that I enjoy every so often.
17. Purge closets and basements every 6 months.
18. Sponsor an orphan
19. Plan NYC weekend trip to go see a play, shop and of course visit family and friends.
(This has been talked about forever, but we all keep falling off the boat with it)
20. Return to ET adoption program once our domestic is finalized.
21. Mentor a newer/new Soror so that they will remain active and understand the organization and not get "lost in the crowd".
22. Have one Ladies only event yearly for my circle and extended circle to fellowship together
23. Stay committed to working on the Children's ministry at my church even after my child arrives.
24. Return to journaling my daily thoughts and prayers.
25. Help create local and extended adoptive family network group and plan yearly event to meet.
26. Plan a gourmet cooking class outing for several couples so that we can prepare a dish at local place that offers this service.
27. Volunteer at local Ronald McDonald House and or give to their fund.
I had a 4 month old little cousin pass at Duke University's hospital and I use to stay with the mother on weekends sometimes at the Ronald McDonald House to keep her company while he was in the hospital since we lived only 30 minutes away.
I was 11 years old at the time and I remember meeting all of the families residing in the home while their children were in the hospital. I thought that it was the neatest set up because families had some where to stay when they were not from the area and they could go back and forth to the hospital.
28. Continue to manage my time better.
29. Continue to be an even better steward with my money.
30. Remain in contact with friends far away. Even when we are all extremely busy.

Hey Kristy,
Give me the name of your vitamins girl. LOL! You've inspired me in areas of my own life.
Prenatal! Girl...they are the bomb!
I have not been sick all year and I work with babies, kids and geriatrics all year long! I am going to try to stay on track with taking care of my personal goals this year!
Glad to see you have posted your goals for the year. You have inspired me to add some to my list. I pray for sucessful completion of your goals.
Kmr,
Yes! It was time to put them in writing. It will be a reminder for me. Some of the goals are more important than others but they are a desired goal to work on. I am going to type them out now I can visibly see them regularly.
