Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is celebrating 101 years of service today.
It is in an honor to be a member and an active member of the first Greek letter organization established by and for Black women. It seems like we just celebrated our 100 years just a few months ago. Our Centennial Boule in Washington DC this past summer was an event to witness.
Today I want to give thanks to our founders for having such a vision and all of those ladies who paved the way a long time ago to help make the organization become what it is today.
I am looking forward to the day that my daughter (s) will be able to become a member of my organization and carry on the legacy of her grandmother, and mother by contributing her gifts, talents, skills, love for community service, mission work, while representing an excellent character as a Christian woman to keep the legacy alive.

Kristy - What a perfect post for today. Happy Founders Day to you, too!
Thank you Tricia!
I don't think I ever asked you if you were a Soror. Happy Founders Day to you too and I apologize for not sending you a note for Happy Founders Day!
