Last Layaway.....for a while!

I picked up our last layaway of baby clothing on Wednesday evening. We feel as though we have enough items at this point in terms of sleepware and around the house clothing for a newborn. We do not plan on purchasing anymore clothing items until we receive our baby. We will be focusing on furniture from this point on and transforming the room. I have managed to find some great deals on baby items over the past few months.

Girl, you are too cute with this baby! She's going to be a little sleeping princess. This is happening really quickly isn't it? WOW!

Thanks Angela!
You will find that making small purchases along your adoption journey will keep you motivated and preoccupied with your adoption. When you are making purchases it will remind you of what the end result will be from all of your hard work. In addition, you and your husband will not have to spend as much when the baby arrives, just to get started. You will have enough clothing to get you settled in with the baby until you have a little shower or welcoming party. I just don't intend on waiting around and not purchasing anything to rely on other people to purchase. It doesn't hurt to have a little nest egg prepared while you are waiting. In the end, you will not feel it in your pocket with small purchases over a period of time. I initially started off purchasing just white tshirts and onsies and that became boring!
Happy Shopping for your daughter.

All of that stuff is beautiful! I can't wait to see your baby in them! Even though I am on the slow road, I am doing the same thing.

Tami,
I think the wonderful thing about adoption is that we do have a little bit of time to prepare for the baby. It is smart to purchase a little bit at a time considering all of the other expenses and not to mention the adoption expenses alone. With our economy how it is, we definitely have to be more in tune with our spending. The state of our economy is serious.
I learned to look through the stores that get the items from Bloomindales, Macys and other higher end department stores sent to them. I found the exact same items marked down that I had recently seen in Bloomingdales. I made a friend in the layaway department and she lets me know when I come in if a new shipment of merchandise came in! It pays to be friendly! Keep me posted on your
shopping.
