Adoptive Parent Training Day 2

Today was our 2nd day and final day of training. Time passed by quickly and we were given so much information.

The day started with the following: a video presentation on how a child feels that has been adopted in between the birth parents and adoptive parents, discussions about infertility if any issues existed within the group, open adoption plan discussions, the purpose of the home study, discussing what information you share with others regarding your child's adoption and how you keep an open communication with your child about being adopted, and 2 adoptive parents with their children and one birth mother. It was a very interesting and informative training session for us. It was awesome to meet adoptive parents who have gone through the process and were able to share their personal experience with the small group. We felt a strong connection with the only other couple during the training session.
Get this, we ended in prayer today! The husband of the other couple closed our training session in prayer. What a powerful ending to the beginning.

We decided to move forward with this agency after the training was complete and our paper trail began! Our next step is having our home study conducted by them once we submit the necessary paperwork. At this time there is only 1 family waiting for a referral that has completed the process. If all goes well, we will be next in line.
