We finalized the fabric selection and placed the order for our rocker last Saturday. We initially looked at 4 different rockers and we decided to go with this one which they had as a model in the store. The fabric was an upgrade and a little splurge but it feels great to both of us and it just hugs you and sucks you in. I did not realize how costly these chairs were until we started looking.
The chair reclines out, with a quick pull of this little wooden pull inside of the seat and then you just push your feet down on the reclining portion to make it go back in.
We initially planned to have a chair and ottoman, but this made more sense space wise. After talking to one of the owners of the store and designers she told me that I did not have to go with dark color. There are so many good products that keep these chairs clean and customers swear by it. They had several light colored chairs in the showroom that had been there several years and were not dingy. I am glad that I did not lock myself into a dark nursery rocker, especially since the rocker will not be in the nursery forever. We can always put it in another bedroom or put it in the basement. It is clean lined and it will fit in with our eclectic furniture style for the nursery and will blend in well with the fabric selections that we are working on for the crib bedding. The picture that I took doesn't really give it the credit it deserves, but it feels just as fabulous as it looks.
We had to go ahead and order this item because it is custom and will take at least 6-8 weeks to deliver. It took us a few weeks to decide on fabric, but we finally made a decision and we are pleased with our selection. We believe that it will fit in perfect with the other items we have selected.

I love your chair. You have great style Kristy. I can't wait to see everything upon completion.
Thanks Angela. I can't wait to show it completed! Things are coming together.
Kristy, I am loving the chair! I too cannot wait to see the space. It is so funny, because I was all excited about getting the nursery done and I am DRAGGING my feet for Kayden's big girl room...don't be like me!
Thanks Nakira. I just received a call yesterday advising that the fabric is on backorder (popular) and the chair will not be in until the middle of July. My luck! Its all good because we really love the chair and we didn't want to settle.
Don't beat your self up. Kayden is just 2 years old and you have time to pull her room together. You were a firecracker with putting her nursery together and you guys had everything in place before her arrival. I am trying to get to that point now. It seems like a few things are dragging, but I am glad to know that the majority of our stuff is in. We have a few more things to order like light fixtures and the rug, but they come in rather quickly. So, we are slowly coming together. We need to also confirm the fabrics for the custom bedding which will definitely take a few weeks to return.
