Sunday Delivery

Our nursery furniture was delivered late this afternoon. It was an exciting feeling to have major pieces in the room to actually see how much space we have left. After seeing the pieces in the room, I am more excited about pulling the finishing touches to the room to transform it into the nursery. It was kind of like a surreal moment when I saw the furniture placed into the room.
One thing that I can say is that it is good to get your major pieces in because big pieces take up a lot of room and it clearly gives you a realistic view of what else can be added. We measured beforehand, but it is nothing like having the actual pieces in the room. It is very easy to get carried away ordering too many pieces.

My hubby is walking to greet the delivery guys.

Eeeks - I love the chair! Beautiful!!! Makes me want to redo the girls' room, BUT... I still can't find the floor in 1/2 of our rooms.... ugh!

Terrie,
Yes it so exciting. I feel so much pressure to finish pulling things together. I feel like we should have pulled fabric together for the bedding a month ago since it takes so long for bedding to return. We hope to take care of that this weekend. I am also going to check with a workroom at a local fabric store that we use to see what their turn around time is. This 4-8 weeks business on baby bedding is crazy!

Jodi, Thanks! I love the chair too.
Guess what? We received a call on last Friday from the store that advised us that the fabric we chose is on backorder and the chair will not ship out until mid July! I didn't want to change chairs because it was comfortable to us both and fit in well with what we are doing. So, I will be patient and wait for the chair. I am not too pressed about it.

I have to apologize for not keeping up with your blog, as Kaden keeps us extremely busy these days, walking, getting into everything, but I finally had a chance to catch up with your blog. Getting the nursery in order just puts everything in perspective and adds so much excitement. I'm so happy for you. As you may know, we started out international for adoption but then turned to domestic and wouldn't want it any other way!! Keep me posted as things progress in your domestic journey.
God Bless,
Carol

Carol,
Its okay that you haven't kept up. You have not missed much! I truly understand. If I had a toddler running around, I would probably on check my blog 2 times a week!

Nakira,
I know you love furniture and decorating. We are definitely a lot alike in that area. I will keep you informed and you keep me updated on K.'s new big girl room! I am loving it.
I am so ready to find some fabric for the crib bedding, windows, shower curtain and cornice for the shower. Hopefully we will handle the bedding this weekend. I will keep you posted via email!

Chassidy,
Thanks for that heavenly reminder! While doing these things are great, the whole adoption process can definitely play with your mind with what ifs. However, we are truly leaning on God and knowing that he will manage this entire thing. We have tried not to stress out or let fear enter our hearts during this journey. It has made me a stronger person actually. Thanks for your encouraging words. It is so easy to get side tracked and let fear take over with shoulda and woulda's!
