3 week turn around

3 week turn around on our nursery furniture....it has arrived at the store

We received a phone call from the baby furniture store that we used on March 25th advising us that all of our pieces were in! We were initially given an eta of 6-8 weeks for the furniture when we placed the order March 7th.
Something told me to check the voicemail and caller id on our home phone and sure enough there was a message from our consultant in the store advising us that our pieces were in. We were pleasantly surprised being that we were not expecting the items in until late April or Early May. My husband listened to the message and he gave me the thumbs up sign!

With all that was going on that week I did not post this good news. It brought some sunshine to my day considering the news that I had received the day before regarding my cousins. I am pleased to know that our major pieces are in. We are back to working on the room since we had slacked off a little bit because we thought that we had plenty of time.
We are getting ready to order the chair and another piece from a different store. We are narrowing down neutral fabric selections.

While we were at my parents home after the funeral, my parents surprised and blessed us with a nice check for additional nursery items. I am a true kid at heart and it was like Christmas times ten! I love my parents and I am so blessed to have them in my life. Early the next morning while we were still sleeping, my parents peeked in to say their goodbyes and their requests for us to call them upon our arrival back in our state. They also added that more was coming in addition to the check that they blessed us with which was more than enough for us. I love unexpected surprises.

I am trying to stay true to my word and not post any pictures up of the furniture of the nursery or crib until things are completed or almost completed. I do not want to go against Hubby's wishes. So, maybe I can get him to crop a corner picture of the crib as a teaser? Probably not. We will see. I have been taking pictures all along, so I will be able to show the transformation later.

Oh, by the way, that same night at my parents home on March 30th, I received a phone call from another local adoptive parent buddy of mine around 10:15 pm. I was kind of drained from the funeral earlier that afternoon. She called to tell me that there was a set of twins that needed placement from the agency that she used out of Texas last year.

The twins arrived early and they were searching for an AA couple or biracial couple that were completed with their HS. Well, we have our last visit and thats it. We were not too pressed because that was the last major thing that we have on our list besides completing our profile book. So, I told her that we were not finished, but would be soon and I also contacted her agency so that we could get information on having our name with them if we needed to have a back up plan behind and not use our agency later. The twins were placed with a family and I am so happy it happened quickly. I guess this was a sign for us that we need to stop dragging our feet and complete the final hs visit.
(Thank you for thinking about us Nikki and referring us to your agency as well!)
I am slowly but surely coming back around.

Yay! Happy your furniture came in to relieve a little bit of sadness :) I'm sure it helped. I saw all your pics of the service. What a way to honor celebrate thier life. I will still pray for you & your family. God Bless.

Thanks Ali,
It did help me feel a little better. It also let us made us get back on the ball with working on the little details with the nursery while we were finishing up the final details of the adoption process.
Thank you for keeping us in your prayers.

Wow..you're so good at keeping the nursery pictures a secret! I can't wait...I'm so thankful you and your family are doing better after such a terrible tragedy. Hope you all have a Happy Easter.

Chassidy,
I am trying to hold out. We will see. Maybe he will let me post the design he created for the wall with the paint color etc. If I do not show the nursery pics this week.
I will try to show a pic once we have it delivered. I will definitely have a slide show later from beginning to end. I think he will allow me to show it once it is in the room. He is trying to have some of the work done to the room before we schedule a delivery.
Then, I will be able to show a picture later with the room completed. Thats a good plan!

Hooray for something positive in your life right now. It sure seems as if you have had enough sadness. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with you and the families. How awful! I hope you are all coping and remember all things happen for a reason.... what reason may be hard to see right now!

Hi Jodi,
Thanks for the prayer support. Yes, hearing about the furniture provided some sunshine. I am relieved now because the major pieces are in and we do not have to stress about backed up orders if an early placement occurs.
I still need to contact you about the camera. I did my research for about a month and it is still between the Canon and Nikon. I am trying to find the best price first. After I did the camera research we purchased the furniture, so I had to regroup and remember, one thing at a time. The camera is next because I am excited about using it and learning the settings. I will probably take a class to get the full advantage of what the camera has to offer. Hopefully, I will be able to post very nice pictures when the time comes!

Hey woman! I know that the furniture is BEAU-TI-FUL! And free money is always a good thing and knowing that more is coming later is even better! Keep us posted and share ANY pictures that you might have :)

Hey Nak,
You are good!
Yes, free money is a blessing!
I am going to try to post a corner of a pic and possibly what hubby designed for the room with photoshop. I may put it up for a tease.
You had your nursery all finished and prepared before your daughter's arrival. I am trying to catch the same spirit. I don't want to get caught slipping. I am happy that it arrived so early. That was a blessing.
What does the early arrival mean? I don't know. I guess we will have to wait and see :-)
