Fun place

We met friends this evening at a different spot for dinner. This place was so fun and very affordable, and great for large groups. You can design your own entree and they cook it for you. I was safe and selected rice, beans, and beef with my fixings. You go down this long line with all of the raw fixings, vegetables, fruit, sauces, meat, and seasoning salts. You can fix whatever you like.

They opened at 5pm so we called ourselves meeting there at 5 pm so that we would not have to wait in a super long line for a Valentines Day dinner. When we arrived I guess 75 plus other people had the same idea! We only had to wait about 10 minutes with our pager when we got inside. I took these snap shots at the end on our way out. I forgot to take pictures while we were there. My girlfriend told me to take a few shots as we were leaving. I was rushing, so pardon the blurry takes. It was crowded and I felt uncomfortable taking pictures! Boy was it a crazy line when we were leaving.

On a side note:
Upon our arrival, we walked in and spotted our friends and after we greeted them, I looked up. I noticed this persons face, actually 2 faces. Well, it was one of the AP's that we met during orientation back in October. They were one of the couples who came to our orientation with their children and their birth mother of the adopted child so that they could share their story and experience. The agency had them come during our lunch break and they sat and shared their story for about an hour and interestingly enough we didn't have any questions and neither did the other couple in the orientation.
I walked over to her and she told me that she recognized hubby and I as soon as we walked through the doors! Wow! She said that she immediately recognized us when we walked in the doors to the galleria to meet our friends. She said she couldn't place the faces of the other AA couple that was there at the orientation with us. I described them to her, but she said they do not remember who they were.
It just goes to show us again, that even in a large metropolitan city that it is possible to run into people.

We brought them up to speed where we were with our process and we exchanged emails. The day of the orientation, we did not have the opportunity to talk since none of us really had any questions for them. I think that we were kind of in shock at first, since we were able to see real people with their child and the birth mother. Their situation worked out well and they ended up having a baby about year after they adopted after years of trying and unexplained infertility. What a blessing.

How neat that you ran into that couple there. It's always a blessing for me to be able to talk adoption with people.

Yes, it was neat because it was so many people in the lobby and I looked up after seeing our friends and walked over to them. They had already spotted us though! They are a beautiful couple and shared their experience that works for them.
