I wish that I could give you each a piece of this birthcake we just shared with friends that came over to bring cards and gifts after work. I am not a person that is big on cakes, but my husband feels like cakes are necessary. I have to admit the cake was great. The icing inside the cake was so good and cold that I thought it was ice cream cake.
We will celebrate a little more this weekend since this was a workday for me and I will be able to shop a little and use my gift cards!
I had a wonderful day with beautiful cards and gifts. I received bunches and bunches of phone calls and birthday texts that started early this morning. I am just happy and blessed to be alive and healthy.
Thank you to all of my family and friends who made my day special from early morning until night!

He had everyone sing Happy Birthday twice because I walked away from the island the first time to put water in Mocha's bowl!
He did well! He got off work early, picked up the cake he ordered and started on a casserole dinner! It was great. I did not have to do anything but come in the house and chill!

I did have a second piece of cake! Small, but I did. After I ate dinner I wanted something sweet.
I wish you guys did live close enough to come by for cake and dinner! Oh well....wishful thinking!

You are right, I am looking forward next years birthday with a new addition to the family! I am sure that it will be a different feeling. Then, I will be able to blog about my child and their day to day lives instead of the process to getting them!
We have to catch up. I have been tied down with classes, work, and finishing up everything for the adoption. Forgive me! I have had to buckle down with classes and you know the adoption paperwork and final stuff keeps you tied up. I have disappeared to a few folks, but things are a little better now---I think!!
