Although, we loved their products and they are Not the least expensive baby furniture on the market. We were quite surprised. That raised an eyebrow for us and definitely with my Mother when we told her, and she immediately said it was not an option after we talked about it. With all of the concerns with the tainted paint and other children's products and toys that have been recalled recently; we do not think that we will be comfortable with that at this point.
We have other crib options and we are also exploring the furniture market in NC since I am from NC and I can visit NC or ask my parents to check out something for me. We began calling the manufacturers to see exactly where the cribs were coming from. It is amazing to find out the number of things that we do not make in our own country, that are actually imported when you start digging.
As a close friend reminded me as well, children bite their cribs when they are going through those teething stages and they can do some serious damage to their cribs!
Yes, they do have teething guards, but that covers just one part. How much of a risk do you really want to take with your baby's health.
I guess its a personal opinion about being comfortable with where things are made and possible issues that could arise. It is amazing how we have to change our way of thinking when we are purchasing when it comes to children.

I don't know if I'd trust China made products right now either. My friend just returned two Vicky Secret's bras made in China which were made with formaldehyde. YIKES!
Angela,
This is the crazy part. Most of the baby stores here in the US have their products imported from over there. Now, we are having to call and check and see where it is coming from. If you don't ask, they will not tell. Currently, my parents are looking for us with some distributors in NC within the furniture district. We are googling on line to fine some other US manufactured baby furniture dealers as well. Things that I would not consider thinking about. She warned me of a couple of things just due to a lot of the other countries not having the same standards as we do (lead free paint in items, fire resistant material with clothing and on and on). We must be careful.
