Six years ago on this day (November 2002), my husband had an in depth discussion with my parents when I was not in the room with them and told them what his intentions were in the next few months in regards to our relationship.
He asked my Father and mother for their permission to marry me. He expressed to them that he had intentions of proposing to me in June of 2003 (which I did not know about). Not to say that our dating relationship was not bump free, but it was well worth it in the end when you see the transformations that we both made from dating into marriage.
My Husband proposed to me actually on my Father's birthday, and it was a significant birthday as well. Our engagement was announced at a surprise birthday party that my mother threw for my father that weekend. Ironically, we ended up having our reception at the same hotel the following year.
On Mothers day weekend in May of 2004, this is the day that my Father officially had the son that he never had and my husband received another Father the he admires and loves dearly and calls him "Dad".
My Husband and my Father on our wedding day. I still do not know what they were talking about in this picture.

Hey Patience,
You guys are a beautiful couple. I love your wedding pics.
Thanks Angela,
It seems the only decent pictures we have to post are our wedding pictures. I dont particularly care for the random pictures that we take of myself anyway!
Kristy, This is a wonderful photo and it's so cute that you still don't know what they were talking about! I love that it sounds like your hubby and dad have a great man-to-man relationship. What a real blessing!
Thanks Tricia,
They are really close. Sometimes my husband will know things that I do not know because he speaks to my parents on his own (meaning whenever he gets the urge to call them or text them). So, sometimes he actually gets information first! It is a really good relationship and I am thankful for it.
