Question...

Wipes..

I have a question for all of my blog mommy's out there. How many packs of wipes do you think that you go through in a month?
I started stocking up on cases of wipes and refill packs a few months back when I would catch them on sale. I recently purchased a few packs of the pampers wipes that came three refills to a pack. I was just curious about how many packs do you think that you go through.

Just guessing as I've never really paid attention although I've always tried. Maybe 1 pack every 2 weeks. More in the beginning for sure.

They do dry out if stored too long though, but I've heard you can just put them in tupperware and put a couple of drops of water in and seal it.

A can of formula (just FYI) lasted my little one 5-6 days until she started eating solid foods.

First and foremost, Target brand Unscented wipes are by far my favorite. I think they compare to Pampers any day and much less expensive. Stay away from Parent's Choice ones from Wal Mart, they are like paper towels...yuck!

As for how many, we buy them a case at a time and the case lasts about 2 months. I split the case up when I buy it equal packs for the sitter's and home. Maybe even longer.

We also used Target Brand formula, saved a ton of money there!! Oh, and Target brand diapers... what can I say, Aliya is a Target girl!

Debbie,
Thanks for the tidbit! I had never heard that. I will keep that tip in mind.
I am going to try to pay attention to see how many packs.
I guess I will do like my mother does and put a start date on things so that I will know how long the product lasts. My mom still does that with laundry detergent and softener!

Kelly,
I am a Target girl for sure. I have been there every day for the past 4 days, if that tells you anything. I am learning to catch their sales during the week to get more for my money on these baby items.

I have the Pampers brand wipes in cases and I purchased a few refill packs this past weekend in Target since they were on sale.
I don't think that I knew Target had their own formula. I am not surprised.
Thanks for the feedback! This is something that I am going to try to keep track of for sure to see how we are doing with it. I have about 3 cases already to get us started.

Well, I'm a "I smell poo" and "wipe-freak" so I can go through a refill pack every 2 weeks.

We have a nice stash of Pampers One-Ups for day use, Pampers Lavender scent for night use, and Kandoos for traveling (I keep several packs in my car trunk in a basket...again, because I'm a "wipe-freak".

We started stocking up a few weeks after returning home---and have an ample supply in our garage---have never counted but this week I'll keep your question at the front of my mind and take mental notes.

***I purchased two wipe warmers a few weeks before receiving her...turns out to be a waste of products since the CocoPrincess was use to her little tush being wiped with cold wipes---my poor baby, can brave cold wipes!!!***

***I also wasted money purchasing a IPod thingy that you download music onto and it attaches to the crib. It's a waste because the moment her head touches her bed, she is out for a 10-hour sleep-fest. She doesn't need sleep-aids, just a backrub and a forehead kiss***

I am a person that is fond of wipes as well. I keep wipes in my vehichle for quick spills or cleaning and I have always kept baby wipes for different personal uses as well.

Well, my hubby predicted a refill pack a week would be used initially. So, I guess we will see.
A close friend of mine gave me an extra wipe warmer that she recieved when my God daughter was born. I have heard mixed reviews on the wipe warmers, just as yours. I guess it depends upon the baby. Sometimes newborns are particular and sometimes they aren't.

I had not considered the ipod gadget although we are apple/ipod people over here. I am more into the the device that projects on to the ceiling and I figured I could just put a mini cd player into the nursery to play soft music or "white noise" to relax the baby - those massage cd's that play the ocean and things.

Keep me posted on the wipes usage. I think we are okay with wipes to begin with to be honest. We have a couple of cases to get started and a several refill triple packs. I need to stock up on the pampers now for the stage 2 and a few more stage 1 to get us started. I only have one case, and one pack of swaddlers newborn. I think that we are set with baby wash, baby lotions of different scents, powder, and vaseline for the first couple of months, unless I over due it with using the wash. I may purchase more baby washes since I know how I like to use it, and I use more than one squirt!

As you can see, I am still up and wide awake on my time. We are finishing some final touches to our profile. I home this week anyway on vacation, so I can hang a little longer since I am sleeping in a little.

I never had wipes dry out but in my opinion, you can never have too many. Now with 2 babies, we go through tons, like a refill pack a week. I also recently discovered a website, diapers.com. They have everything from formula, diapers, wipes, baby gear, etc. etc. The prices are comparable to Target/Walmart or even a bit cheaper. I also found the ready to feed formula (Isomil) to be $1.00 less per can than Walmart. Free shipping if you spend $49 and they have next day delivery. Definitely worth checking out. I can't wait to hear more on your journey!!

Carol,
Thank you for the information on the wipes! I will check into those deals. It will be interesting to see how many we use. My husband predicted a refill pack will take two weeks to use. I don't know, we will see! Thanks again. I hope things are going well with your new baby girl!
