good deal...

On yesterday, I stopped by one of my favorite stores (the one with the red and white bulls eye) to pick up another book for my god daughters birthday presents.

Something told me to cruise by the baby department and I did. When I strolled down the baby isle I happened to see Graco convertible car seats for $50.00 for yesterday and today only. It was not a misprint, it was truly marked down to $50.00 for Friday and Saturday only. I was on my cell phone talking to a friend while I was strolling through and she suggested that I get it and I can always return it if consumer report did not givea good recommendation.

I made another phone call and then I called my husband to advise him that I found a deal on a convertible car seat and he met me at the store. We purchased the seat and went home and he checked on the ratings. The seat actually rated very well for a convertible seat that faces forward. We decided to keep it and have it as a back up convertible seat in addition to the other convertible seats that were on our wish lits.

Interestingly enough, one of my girlfriends said that the store had the car seats in their circular for this weekend and it could be easily overlooked because she just noticed it today when we were speaking about it. I am still kind of tickled at the fact that I was in the right place at the right time to snag a good deal for this convertible seat. We stopped by later this evening and they had more seats on sale today. They are an excellent way ot give someone a nice baby shower gift and not break your budget while giving.

I will post pictures later... I think I over did it today running around all day. I am not 100% yet.

What a great deal!! Congrats, I may run over to the Tar'ge by my work this morning. They have a 90 day return policy which won't work for me if our child is bigger, but who knows?

Hi Nak,
Hey love..I am glad that you are feeling better.
I am so thrilled that I was able to come across this deal. My intent was to run in and out of Target for the replacement book and that was it.
At first, I thought it was a reject seat or something and they were trying to get rid of them, but that was not the case. They had a lot of their infant and baby stuff marked down really good. They even had a mattress marked down, but we preferred a mattress with more coils and a little more firmer. So, we waited on the mattress, but it was a $40.00 Kolcraft.
I am sure someone that did not care about the coils and things probably snatched it up, but I wanted to make sure that I had my information right before purchasing a mattress.

We will catch up soon. Don't worry. I am back to my Superwoman schedule so I am kind of out of touch again.
I left this morning and did not return until night. I had chapter meeting this morning, from there I went and worked a few hours PRN at a facility that help out on the side seeing a few patients.
Then, hubby met me at a baby speciality store so that we could give them all of our fabric for the custom bedding and some other things that we are getting done. Then we went to BCF to Baby Depot to pick up some things that were marked down, to IHOP, and then to Target to pick up a couple of household things. I was a little weak and tired by the time that we got home. I am home today b/c I am not totally 100% and I think I over did it yesterday and I didn't want to be around tons of people with all of this stuff going around bad here.
So, hubby is at service for both of us. Actually he will be staying through both services this morning because he has some work to do in the office where his ministry meets since he is on the media ministry.
I will check on you after your surgery. I am off this week so you can call me anytime during the day.

Oh, yeah, we may be coming home for one of the homecomings, so maybe we can get together then for a minute. It all depends on whats going on with these possible births and placements. We will talk this week so that I can fill you in on what is going on with the adoption process.

Angela,
It is a wonderful deal. It is a convertible seat, so if your little girl is an infant and meets the weight requirement to face forward, it will work for you.
We will not be able to use it for a little while, but it will come in handy when the child can face forward. We have infant seats now until the baby gets the weight limit.
They are usually in the convertibles for a while, so I think that you will be okay unless you are getting a chunky toddler!
I am not for sure about your store, but I think our sale ended yesterday. Check your circular to see if it is still on. Good Luck! I love a great deal!

I should have posted this Friday night when we picked it up, but I was pooped. I will do better.

Keep your eyes open for the next sale Angela. They are normally two day sales. Check your circulars for next month. If I hear or see them coming on sale, I will send you a message on your blog so that you can get there. It is worth the 50.00 (to me anyway) !

Kristy, now that you have posted a pic, those are exactly the same seats that we had. We got two as shower gifts and sold one and one is on lone. I figure if we adopt again, we will get all new stuff anyone, although I do love our carrier and stroller....we got a Combi!

Nakira,
Yes, this was a pretty good deal. I have since found that they have put these on sale at least twice since I purchased mine. This is a good seat for facing forward and not facing the seat. We are sticking with Chico for the infant seats. This was too good of a deal to pass up. I am glad to hear that you have one and rated it well.
