Lessons Learned....

I wanted to share some pictures from our family vacation at Myrtle Beach the week of the 12th. I took about 375 pictures during our vacation with family. I should have made my slide show when I downloaded the pictures, and I would still have them. When we returned, I down loaded all of the pictures to my hubby's Mac on last Monday into Iphoto.
I did load about 5 pictures on my FB account and I will share those, since that is all I have.

On Thursday, my husband installed a program on his Mac that was given to him so that he could look at our neighborhood's security camera's and not have to use my PC to monitor the activity at the amenities in the neighborhood. Needless to say, when he installed the program there was some sort of glitch with running it and the program kept running. He made an appointment and took the computer to the Apple Store to have the techs look at it. Unfortunately all of our pictures from June and July that he had not backed up.

However, the pictures are somewhere on the computer and we will probably have to pay several hundred dollars for a recovery specialist to find the missing pictures and all of the data that we had. So, hopefully, one of hubby's co workers will be able to retrieve everything so that we will not have to lose the recent data put on the computer. If not, we are waiting on one of the locations that the Apple store recommended for a recovery specialists. The Apple store did not wipe it clean on yesterday so that we would have an opportunity to have a recovery specialist to recover the data to try to recover the recent information saved on the computer.

Let this be a lesson learned to all, to immediately back up all of your pictures instantly when you download them. I am praying and hoping that are our pictures will be recovered by the specialists. I was one of the main persons taking pictures of everyone at the beach and I captured so many beautiful shots of everyone during that week. We had so many family members present that it would be a shame to lose all of those pictures.
Besides that, mostly everyone was relying on me to email or send the pictures out on discs so that they could print their own pictures. This was truly a hurtful lesson to learn on my behalf. In addition, I was in the process of putting our family vacation into our profile for the adoption agency. It is really a shame.

Updates and Thank you for your prayers

Thank you all for your prayers and support during this time.
It is indeed still a difficult time, but only God can help us all get through and try to understand a situation like this. I am still soaking things in myself and dealing with it in my own way and preparing myself for their home going service. It is family, and our family is close. We may not see each other all of the time due to everyone living different places, but we support one another.

Arrangements have been made for my 2 cousins who are brothers and the other four persons ( 2 family members included) are still missing. The missing family members are the uncle of my cousins, and another cousin.  The coast guard has stopped the search and private divers are supposed to be hired to search for the missing.
We are in prayer for their parents, spouse, fiance and young children at this time for we know that their pain and sorrow is deeper than ours.

I just wanted to let you all know that your comments and emails have not gone unnoticed. Many have stayed abreast through the news stories and interviews and I appreciate all of the prayers that have gone up and that are still going up during this time.

Serving our Country

As many of us prepare to spend time with our families and close friends, there are so many families that will be separated due to their active duty in the military.
One of my younger first cousins, who is also my Soror left today for a tour that she must serve far away in the middle east.
She is an officer in the United States Air Force and we are very proud of her. I salute her today as well as the countless other individuals who serve our country and sacrifice time away at special holidays to serve and protect. While it is difficult with families to deal with during this holiday season, we know that they are working for our country.
We will be here waiting for you in 2009 when you return and hopefully this gift and or gifts coming will be waiting for you to come spoil him/her as well!

Love ya girl!
