snow and ice

We received snow and ice on Sunday evening in parts of the country. We have pretty much been relaxing around the house and I have been resting, resting and resting. I guess that I needed that rest.
Our circle in front of my house looked like an ice rink until today and not to mention a couple of steep hills that it takes to get out of our subdivision. We remained still until today due to all of the ice and the warnings for everyone to stay and home and not drive unless it is absolutely necessary. It was a mess all over the city with cars stranded and wrecked.

My husband and I enjoyed staying in watching movies, sleeping late and just being still for a change. I really do not have a lot of great pictures of the storm that hit us because it was more ice than anything else and it was really hard for me to get out and get the pictures that I wanted.

I am thankful for some extra rest that was obviously needed, however, I am also thankful that we did not lose power during this ordeal due to the ice on the power lines. Things are beginning to melt a little bit, however, the highways are still icy and there is a lot of snow and ice still thick on heavily traveled roads and parkways. I ventured out today for a few minutes, however, I am back home relaxing. I hope everyone that received this storm are safe and cozy in their homes.
