with a little help....

I just wanted to share this little card that I made today with the help of my husband. It is simple, but cute.
I was tired of not being able to navigate the programs myself! In the past, I would come up with designs and he would create them for me for different things. Now, I am learning to make them on my own using the programs.
This card is for a friend/neighbor in my neighborhood who gave birth to her second son about 2 weeks ago. I am pulling together her custom basket and this card will go inside. I picked up the card stock to print it on earlier this evening.

I am excited about designing more things on my own by actually bringing my design concepts to the screen!

Oooooo, excellent graphic and font choices. Did you start from a blank page and work from there or was this a ready-made with
fill-ins? Either way, I'm jealous of your skills---! And isn't it a wonderful feeling seeing the work of your eyes/hands bless someone in such a way---share the basket when you are finished.

PS...Soror, girl, at first I thought that was your
annoucement---I was getting ready to cheer and scream---:)

I like. Wish I had a clue about how to design using the computer.

Don't get us excited. I thought this was news about your adoption.

Nakira,
Thanks girl. I was really trying to have that orange, blue and brown there.

Thank you. Yes, I started with a blank screen and designed it with the much needed assistance of my husband who is teaching me the different programs so that I can design my own things and not just tell him what I want and he does it.
Yes, it is a wonderful feeling to see my thoughts on screen. I should have the basket completed by the end of this week hopefully.

You are too funny! I will have to think of a creative way to post it when the time comes! I didn't even think about that when I posted this!

We are still waiting....it is all good. There is plenty to do and I have some other things on my plate. You know what I mean. Adoption is what it is and I am not trying to rush anything. This is not like returning something that you don't like! Its a lifetime commitment.

KMR,
You are funny too! You guys were thinking that I was secretly posting our placement! I haven't figured out how I am going to do it, but it will be a post. I will not leaving you hanging for too long when that time comes!

I am learning to navigate the programs and design things with my DH assistance. I always have the concept, but I had no idea of how to just get up there and design as he does. It will be a process, but it is something that I have wanted to do now for a couple of years so that I could create my own things instead of telling him how I want it done.

I am sure that he will be glad when I can do it also 100% on my own!

Oh yeah, I will definitely have a new blog upon the placement to mark a new beginning and also to have better controls.
I would not leave you all out there hanging when a placement occurs. I will definitely let my known faithful followers know of the new location.

So cute! I see an etsy card shop in your future!

Hey Alisa!
Girl, we could have had a shop a long time ago if my husband would take the time to post all of his freelance custom designs. He is actually working on a webpage to put his things on in his spare time.
Until then, I am making my own stuff and may just put some things up once I have about 20 different things or more. He has a ton of stuff and does mostly custom to order for designs.
