I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!
We personally have so much to be thankful for and I will share a little more later this week. It is so easy to become frustrated and complain when there are always others that are going through so much more. I always try to keep that in mind when I think about complaining. Things are at a point now where I can blog a little more. We definitely have so much to be thankful for, period.
I will write a more detailed post on where we are with a few things going on with my disappearance from the blog scene. Until then, I will share a little picture of the decorations and preparations for one of my favorite holidays.
My husband actually put tree #1 and #2 up on the weekend before Thanksgiving. Our goal was to have the majority of the decorations up prior to Thanksgiving so that all we had to do was put the finishing touches on the larger items.
The trees still need to have decorations put on them, however, the hardest part is over. The largest one is fluffed, and it is about 12 feet tall and it is very time consuming when putting it up. However, I did not have to do a thing with any decorations this year. My hubby did everything alone and I am so thankful for him.
I arrived home on one Friday and the large tree was up. I returned in after being out on the following day for a few hours and he had the dining room tree up as well as all of the garland on the stairways, wreaths on all of the bedroom doors as well as down stairs wreaths in their locations. We also have a few mini trees in particular rooms for decor as well.
We have not placed the yard decorations out yet, and they will probably not go out until next weekend after the last bit of leaves finish falling in the front yard and we can blow them away again. However, our wreath is up on the front door. I will definitely post a few completed pictures once things are completed real soon.
The picture on top is a sneak peek snap of my dining room buffet and the bottom picture is my wreath on the front door. I love seeing how everyone has different styles with decorating for the holidays. I can hardly wait to see what all of my blogging buddies are putting up.

Just popping in to say HEY! I know I fell off the blogging bandwagon due to so many life changes but I still check on you from time to time. I will send you an email soon. Happy Decorating, I can't wait to see what you come up with, you are so creative.
I'm looking forward to decorating for Christmas too. It's neat that your husband is just as enthused about making things lovely. I'm sure it takes some of the pressure off of making sure things get done. You two are a good match.
Alisa,
Thanks for stopping by and checking on me. I have been off the blogging scene for a minute. I'm catching up and will have more to update. Thanks for your comment. We really try to be unique and have a style that goes with our home, as well as decorate most of the rooms.
I purchased a lot of decorations the first couple of years in our home and now I just buy bits and pieces each year to add since I have the bulk of what I need. I pick up unique ornaments or things on sale that I could really use to add to a particular room, however, we don't overdo it. I enjoy simplicity with classy tradition, if that's a style?!
Thanks Angela,
Yes, my husband is super helpful and he is always on point with the decorations! He wraps our trees outside with white lights like a professional! He really takes his time.
I think he enjoys seeing me surprised when I come home and see the decorations come to life. I also think that it is easier for him because he is so particular with storing all of the decorations. We have all of the decorations stored in containers and labeled with what room or area. We try to buy holiday storage containers each year after the holidays to ensure we have storage for new items. He neatly arranges everything in the basement. It is amazing how many decorations you can acquire over a few years. We try to purchase items that are timeless.
I'm sure that you will have fun decorating your home so that your g baby's eyes will light up!
Hey Kristy! I am glad that you all had a great visit to the great state!!! All of our decorations are pretty much up as well; I LOVE decorating for Christmas and my DH is even worse than I am! I will have to post some photos soon of our decorations! Yuors look pretty fabulous....I wouldn't expect anything less :)
Yes Nakira,
It was a wonderful visit. Short, but sweet and we had a ball. I truly do miss home. What does that mean possibly?....Hummm? We will see.
I am sorry that we missed each other, however, it is just way too much for us on two day visits to see everyone. Our Thanksgiving visit is normally a little longer, depending upon what is going on, but you know this time my Hubby had to get back to hit the road for two days. So, that comes with the territory. Let's definitely make it happen next time. I was hoping we would see each other back in October, but we just missed one another. That was a crazy weekend also.
I am sure that your home is all dolled up for the holidays as well. I can't wait to see pictures and I will definitely share some pictures, and not just clips of a few things. I feel obligated since I have not been blogging as much. It will get better!
